【摘要】:Theoveralllevelofperformancethatmaybeachievedbyanycomputersystemisdetermined,inlargepart,bythesystembusthatisusedtoeffectcommunicationbetweenthevarioussystemelements.Systemperformancecharacteristics,measuredintermsofspeed,reliability,suitabilitytoavarietyofpurposes,andadaptabilitytochangingtechnologyareultimatelydependentontheparticularbusstructurethatisusedanditsassociatedprotocols.ThisstandarddefinestheIEEEStd1000Bus,whichmaybeusedtoimplementgeneralpurpose,high-performance8-bitmicrocomputersystems.Suchasystemmaybeusedinastand-aloneconfiguration,orinlargermultiple-busarchitectures,asaprivate(orsecondary)busorahigh-speedI/Ochannel.ThisstandardisapplicabletothosesystemsandsystemelementswiththecommoncommercialdesignationSTEbus.Itisintendedforthoseuserswhoplantoevaluate,implement,ordesignvarioussystemelementsthatarecompatiblewiththeIEEE1000StdBussystemstructure.ThephysicalattributesandmethodofinterconnectutilizedbyboardsandmodulesconformingtothisstandardarederivedfromseveralInternationalElectrotechnicalCommission(IEC)standards.Thesestandards,whenimplementedjointlyinasystemsenvironment,resultinamechanicalconfigurationcommonlyreferredtoasEurocard.AppendixBlistssuchapplicablestandardswhich,wherereferenced,areconsideredasifincorporatedwiththisstandard.Inparticular,theconnectorusedbyIEEEStd1000Busboardsisa64-pinmaleconnectorutilizingtheoutsidetworows(designatedaandcrows),specifiedinIEC60603-2,andthematingfemaleconnectorisusedonIEEEStd1000Busbackplanes.TherecommendedsizeforIEEEStd1000Busboardsis100mm×160mm(3,937in×6,299in),commonlyreferredtoasasingleheightstandarddepthEurocard.TheIEEEStd1000Busstructureisbasedonthemaster-slaveconceptinwhichamaster,havinggainedcontrolofthebus,mayaddressandcommandslaves.Mastersandslavescommunicatewitheachotherbyuseofanasynchronousinterlockedhandshakeprotocol.Thistechniqueallowsfortheconstructionofcomputersystemsthatincorporatedevicesofwidelyvaryingspeeds.Multiplemastersmaybeimplementedwithinasinglesystem.Twoindependentaddressspacesaresupported:memoryandI/O.Memorytransactionsreferencea1megabytephysicaladdressspace,whileI/Otransactionsreferencea4kilobytephysicaladdressspace.Systemintegrityduringallsuchtransactionsisenhancedbyprovisionofatransfererrorsignal.Provisionismadeforinterboardconditionalertssuchasinterruptrequests,DMArequests,system-specificerrorconditions,orotherspecializedstatusconditions.Withinthisschemeeightprioritizedattentionrequestlevels,eachwithvectoredresponsecapability,areavailableforuserassignation.Thisstandarddealsonlywiththosecharacteristicsthatmustbespecifiedsoastoensurethesuccessfuldesignandimplementationofcompatibleboardsandsystems.Issuesrelatingtoindividualdesignspecifications,andperformanceorsafetyrequirementsarenotaddressed.
