【摘要】:Testingmachinesthatapplyandindicateforceareusedinmanyindustries,inmanyways.Theymaybeusedinaresearchlaboratorytomeasurematerialproperties,andinaproductionlinetoqualifyaproductforshipment.Nomatterwhattheenduseofthemachinemaybe,itisnecessaryforuserstoknowtheamountofforcethatisappliedandindicated,andthattheaccuracyoftheforceistraceabletotheNationalInstituteofStandardsandTechnology(NIST),formerlyNBS.PracticesE4providesaproceduretoverifythesemachines,inorderthattheindicatedforcesmaybetraceable.AkeyelementtothisNISTtraceabilityisthatthedevicesusedintheverificationhaveknownforcecharacteristics,andhavebeencalibratedinaccordancewithPracticeE74.TheproceduresinPracticesE4maybeusedbythoseusing,manufacturing,andprovidingcalibrationservicefortestingmachinesandrelatedinstrumentation.1.1Thesepracticescoverproceduresfortheforceverification,bymeansofstandardcalibrationdevices,oftensionorcompression,orboth,staticorquasi-statictestingmachines(whichmay,ormaynot,haveforce-indicatingsystems).Thesepracticesarenotintendedtobecompletepurchasespecificationsfortestingmachines.Testingmachinesmaybeverifiedbyoneofthethreefollowingmethodsorcombinationthereof:1.1.1Useofstandardweights,1.1.2Useofequal-armbalancesandstandardweights,or1.1.3Useofelasticcalibrationdevices.Note18212;Thesepracticesdonotcovertheverificationofalltypesoftestingmachinesdesignedtomeasureforces,forexample,theconstant-rate-of-loadingtypewhichoperatesontheinclined-planeprinciple.ThistypeofmachinemaybeverifiedasdirectedintheapplicableappendixofSpecificationD76.1.2Theproceduresof1.1.1-1.1.3applytotheverificationoftheforce-indicatingsystemsassociatedwiththetestingmachine,suchasascale,dial,markedorunmarkedrecorderchart,digitaldisplay,etc.Inallcasesthebuyer/owner/usermustdesignatetheforce-indicatingsystem(s)tobeverifiedandincludedinthereport.1.3Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.3.1Sinceconversionfactorsarenotrequiredinthispractice,eitherinch-poundunits,SIunits,ormetricvaluescanbeusedasthestandard.1.4Forcesindicatedondisplays/printoutsoftestingmachinedatasystemsbetheyinstantaneous,delayed,stored,orretransmittedwhichareverifiedwithprovisionsof1.1.1,1.1.2,or1.1.3,andarewithinthex00B1;1%accuracyrequirement,complywithPracticesE4.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
