【摘要】:1.1Thispracticecoversamethodforexposingspecimensofcoloredartmaterialsindoorstosunlightcomingthroughaclosedwindow.AcardcontainingeightBlueWoolReferencesisexposedsimultaneously.BlueWoolReferences3,6,and7,areusedascontrolsindeterminingwhentoremovetestspecimensfromexposureandratethem.TestspecimensareratedbyassigningeachspecimenthenumberoftheBlueWoolReferencethatshowsthesameamountofcolorchange.1.2Thispracticemaybeusedtoindicateartmaterialsthatwillchangecolorwithinafewmonthsoryearsinnormalindoorexposureandthosethatwillremainunchangedforaperiodofyears.Itisnotrigorousenoughtoverifythatmaterialswillremainunchangedformorethanfiftyyearsinahomeorofficeenvironment.Amajorconsiderationindevelopingthismethodwastokeepitsimpleandshortenoughtobepreformedwithoutinstrumentationinacomparativelyshortlengthoftime.1.3ThispracticeshallonlybeusedtoevaluatethelightfastnessofartmaterialsnotconformingtoSpecificationsD4302,D5098orD5067andwhenitisnotfeasibletouseTestMethodsD4303.PracticeD5398,whichisasimplermethod,maybeusedbyartiststoevaluatethelightfastnessoftheirownmaterials.1.4Thispracticeisnotsuitableforevaluatingmaterialswithahighoilcontentsuchasartists'oil,resinoiloralkydpaints.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
